January 27 NBA DFS Picks: Fade James Harden on Monkey Knife Fight

Last Updated: Jan 27, 2021

January 27 NBA DFS Picks on Monkey Knife Fight: Monkey Knife Fight (MKF) combines elements of daily fantasy sports and traditional prop betting to offer a unique array of contests daily for a multitude of sports, including 1/27/21 NBA DFS Plays.

With NBA season in full swing, MKF enhances the enjoyment of the hardwood with exciting opportunities each night to win cash based on your knowledge of some of the league’s top players.

The Game Day breaks down two MKF contests daily that we feel have profit potential. With Wednesday’s massive slate featuring plenty some big names, here’s a closer look at two opportunities involving four of the most offensively explosive players in action:

January 27 NBA DFS Picks

Brooklyn Nets at Atlanta Hawks

MKF Contest: More or Less- Fantasy Points (Pick 2/2 correctly to win 2.5x your Buy-in)

MKF Fantasy Points Scoring System:

  • Point= +1 point
  • Assist= +1.5 points
  • Rebound= +1.2 points
  • Steal= +3 points
  • Block= +3 points
  • Turnover= -1 point

James Harden: Less Than 45.5 Fantasy Points

Harden got his Nets career off to an outstanding start with 32-point, 14-assist, 12-rebound triple-double against the Magic, but that came with Kyrie Irving still out of the mix. Now that the Big Three has been together for four games, Harden has averaged a still impressive but more modest 18.0 points, 10.5 assists, 6.5 rebounds while taking 11.8 shot attempts per contest. The Hawks check into Wednesday’s game ranked No. 11 in defensive efficiency and allowing the fourth-lowest overall shooting percentage (44.4).

What’s more, Atlanta is giving up the second-lowest three-point percentage (32.4 percent), certainly a ding to Harden’s overall fantasy prospects. With a relatively elevated benchmark to clear and two other mega-stars looking for the ball in Brooklyn, I like Harden to fall at least somewhat short of 45.5.

Clint Capela: More Than 41.5 Fantasy Points

Capela has been on an absolute tear after a good-but-not-great start in Atlanta, as he’s double-doubled in seven straight contests. That span includes an eye-popping 27-point, 26-rebound performance against the Pistons, a 10-block effort versus the T-Wolves and a trio of tallies over 20 points overall. The veteran big will be in an excellent matchup against the Nets as well, as Brooklyn is allowing NBA-high 37.0 percent offensive efficiency to centers, along with the most points (25.7) and fourth-most rebounds (16.1) per contest to the position.

Star Shootout- Late Games

MKF Contest: More or Less- Fantasy Points (Pick 2/2 correctly to win 2.5x your Buy-in)

MKF Fantasy Points Scoring System:

  • Point= +1 point
  • Assist= +1.5 points
  • Rebound= +1.2 points
  • Steal= +3 points
  • Block= +3 points
  • Turnover= -1 point

Luka Doncic: Less Than 54.5 Fantasy Points

It’s admittedly hard to bet against Luka given the absolutely absurd performances he’s capable of putting on. One has to look no further than Tuesday for the most recent one, when he eviscerated the Nuggets for a 35-point, 16-assist, 11-rebound triple-double. However, Doncic gets an exponentially stiffer test defensively Wednesday in the Jazz, which just held the Knicks to 94 points Tuesday and came into the contest giving up the third-fewest points per game (106.1).

Utah was also allowing the second-lowest overall shooting percentage (44.1) going into Tuesday, when they held New York to a 43.1 percent success rate. Given this is an exceedingly high benchmark to clear and the Jazz play even slower than Dallas, I like the under on this total.

Stephen Curry: More Than 47.5 Fantasy Points

Curry finds himself in an appealing spot Wednesday, as the opposing T-Wolves check in allowing the third-highest offensive efficiency, the fourth-most points (116.7), the sixth-highest shooting percentage (47.5) and playing at the sixth-highest pace (105.6 possessions per game). Moreover, Curry just lit them up for 36 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals Monday night, and Minnesota checks in allowing 47.8 percent shooting to point guards, including an NBA-high 44.4 percent from behind the arc.

Curry will need to be on top of his game and fill out the stat sheet beyond just the scoring column to clear this statistical bar; however, consider the Dubs are actually limiting opponents to 44.5 percent shooting, while Minnesota and Golden State both rank in the bottom half of the league in team shooting percentages, setting up an above-average number of rebounding opportunities for Curry on either end. Additionally, the T-Wolves rank in the bottom half in turnovers per game committed (15.0), which should give Curry a solid chance of matching or perhaps even exceeding the three steals he recorded Monday, his seventh game with multiple thefts this season.
