Best MLB Prop Bets Today: MLB Player Prop Bets 9/2/21

Last Updated: Sep 2, 2021

For Thursday, Mike Barner has your MLB Betting Picks of the Day: Best Baseball Props Today 9/2/21. All odds for our MLB player prop picks today were obtained from PointsBet.

Thursday doesn’t bring a ton of MLB action with just eight games on the schedule. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some appealing wagering opportunities. With my season record sitting at 24-14 (+7.74 units), let’s discuss three of the best MLB prop bets today.

MLB Props Of The Day: Best Baseball Props Today 9/2/21

Freddie Freeman, Atlanta Braves at Colorado Rockies

To Record An RBI (+115)

Wager: 0.75 units (win would pay 1.61 units)

This is an ideal spot for the Atlanta Braves to score a lot of runs at Coors Field tonight, as Colorado Rockies starter Chi Chi Gonzalez has been a disaster this year with a 6.08 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 5.30 FIP. Freddie Freeman‘s been in a bit of a slump lately with just two RBIs over his last 11 games, but this matchup could be exactly what he needs to break out and cash this MLB player prop today.

Patrick Wisdom, Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

To Get A Hit (-150)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.67 units)

I’m surprised by these odds, as it seems like Patrick Wisdom should be more heavily favored to get a hit against Mitch Keller, who has a 1.81 WHIP and a .315 opponent batting average across 17 starts this year. Wisdom is more of a slugger than a contact hitter, but he does have at least one hit in eight of his last 11 games. These odds could change as we move closer to first pitch, so I’d jump on this MLB player prop bet early.

Frank Schwindel, Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

To Hit A Home Run (+450)

Wager: 0.5 units (win would pay 2.75 units)

Home run prop bets are always risky, but I can’t resist taking a chance on this wager. Wrigley Field is a great home run park when the wind is blowing out, and Keller’s been homer-prone on the road this year with five long balls over 28 2/3 innings in his six away starts.

That bodes well for Frank Schwindel, who’s shown plenty of power with a .289 ISO this season and has gone deep in each of his last three games. With the conditions tilting in his favor, he has a great chance to go yard again tonight.
