Los Angeles Chargers 2021 Win Total Bet: Schedule, Changes, and Outlook
The Los Angeles Chargers have moved on from head coach Anthony Lynn after back-to-back losing seasons, replacing him with former Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. The hope is that Staley — who oversaw the NFL’s stingiest defense last year — can turn around a Chargers unit that allowed the 10th-most points in the NFL last season.
While Staley won’t have the same level of defensive talent that he had with the Rams, he still has some strong building blocks in Joey Bosa and Derwin James. Both have missed considerable time in recent seasons, but if they can stay on the field together they’ll anchor what could prove to be a solid defense.
On the offensive side of the ball, Los Angeles has already found its long-term replacement for Philip Rivers in Justin Herbert, who just set the rookie passing TD record. Assuming Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler are both healthy, the Chargers will have a dynamic offense that can beat teams through the air and on the ground.
Los Angeles should also benefit from a relatively easy AFC West that features the Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos. The Kansas City Chiefs are close to unbeatable these days as long as Patrick Mahomes is healthy, but the Chargers’ are blessed with a soft second-half slate that includes the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, and Houston Texans.
