Minnesota Vikings 2021 Win Total Bet: Schedule, Changes, and Outlook

Let’s assume Kirk Cousins doesn’t say/do anything else stupid (a bad bet, I know) and look at the Vikings through a vaccinated lens. The team found their Stefon Diggs replacement in Justin Jefferson last season, and he came in roaring with arguably the greatest rookie WR season of all time. Jefferson and Adam Thielen make up a strong WR duo, although the depth behind them is lackluster. Luckily, the Vikings have a lead TE in Irv Smith Jr. who is solid enough to act as a pseudo-WR3 and take the pressure off of the actual WRs.

This team also has the benefit of one of the league’s best RBs in Dalvin Cook, who is now in his prime. As long as he stays healthy, there should be few questions on how this offense will operate. The addition of OT Christian Darrisaw in Round 1 of the 2021 Draft should boost him up as well.

Defensively, the Vikings are reunited with elite EDGE Danielle Hunter who did not play a single snap in 2020. On top of this, the additions of vets like Dalvin Tomlinson and Patrick Peterson should help as well.

A major loss on this end, though, is safety Anthony Harris, who is replaced by Xavier Woods — a significant downgrade. Still, Minnesota should be much better than their No. 18 finish in defensive DVOA last season.

The schedule is made more difficult this season thanks to Aaron Rodgers‘ return, and there are not a lot of easily winnable games outside of the Bengals and Lions (x 2).

Minnesota Vikings 2021 Win Total Bet Pick

Vikings To Win UNDER 9 Games In 2021-2022 NFL Season (-115)

This team is like the Tennessee Titans in that their offense is hyper-consolidated among the top talent and any individual loss to Cousins, Cook, Jefferson, or Thielen could cause a major ripple effect. While the defense should be much improved from 2020, they are still not a top unit and will not be capable of singlehandedly carrying the team to wins.

The division is not much tougher but NFC North games are never easy. Not to mention matchups versus the Rams, 49ers, Chargers, Steelers, Cowboys, Browns, and Cardinals, which should all be very competitive. The Vikings will be a fine team this season, but more than 9 wins? Unlikely.
