Usually, the strategy with NRFIs is to find two elite pitchers and ride with them. However, that’s not the case today. Adam Wainwright and Kyle Hendricks used to be in the elite tier of pitchers, and while they’re certainly above average, they haven’t been the most reliable arms this year. Waino’s been stellar at home in 2021 and should have no trouble halting a Cubs lineup that really hasn’t done much since the All-Star break. On the other side, Hendricks always pitches well against St. Louis and should keep that dominance up today.
