For Thursday, Mike Barner has your MLB Betting Picks of the Day: Best Baseball Props Today 7/1/21. All odds were obtained from PointsBet.
There has the potential to be a few lopsided games across baseball on Thursday, which might not make for the most exciting night. Let’s try to spice up the evening with a few player props to consider. I’ll look to improve on my season record of 12-8 (+2.50 units) with the following three wagers.

MLB Betting Props of the Day: Best Baseball Props Today 7/1/21
Corbin Burnes, Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates
Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+115)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 2.15 units)
Burnes started out the season hot in the strikeout department, recording at least nine of them in each of his first seven starts. However, he has at least eight strikeouts in only two of his last six outings. One of them did come against these same Pirates, though, when he recorded eight strikeouts despite only pitching four innings. With the Pirates sporting one of the worst lineups in baseball and plus odds for this wager, it could be worth the risk.
Nolan Arenado, St. Louis Cardinals at Colorado Rockies
To Record an RBI (+110)
Wager: 0.75 units (win would pay 1.58 units)
Arenado faced his former team earlier this season, but that series came in St. Louis. This will be his first time as a visitor at Coors Field, where he hit .322 with 461 RBI across 543 games. A matchup against Antonio Senzatela and his 1.44 WHIP could lead to a few opportunities for Arenado to drive in a run.
Justin Turner, Los Angeles Dodgers at Washington Nationals
To Record a Hit (-250)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.4 units)
Turner has at least one hit in eight of his last 10 games, leaving him with a .285 batting average. He’s dominated left-handed pitching in recent seasons, hitting .316 against them since the start of 2017. Trying to slow him down will be Patrick Corbin, who has followed up his 1.57 WHIP in 2020 with a 1.37 WHIP this season. Dating back to last season, right-handed batters have hit .302 against him with a .368 wOBA.
