MLB Betting Props of the Day: Best Baseball Prop Picks Today
Luis Garcia, SP, Houston Astros vs. Baltimore Orioles (8:10 p.m. ET)
Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-125)
Wager: 1 unit
Luis Garcia and the Houston Astros come into Wednesday night as a sizable home favorite (-301) against the Baltimore Orioles. Garcia has pitched significantly better at home this year with a 1.96 ERA, a 0.99 WHIP, and a 5.1 K/BB ratio compared to a 3.86 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, and a 2.6 K/BB ratio on the road. He has also struck out 46 batters in 41 1/3 innings at home and gets an Orioles lineup that is right-handed heavy and strikes out 26 percent of the time in this split (vs. RHP / Away).
While the number of 6.5 is a little higher than I would like, I still think this is a spot where Garcia can excel. He’s already hit this over six times in his last 10 starts and should be able to pitch deep into this game against a weak opponent at home.

Matt Harvey, SP, Baltimore Orioles @ Houston Astros (8:10 p.m. ET)
Over 3.5 Earned Runs (+105)
Wager: 1 unit
On the flip side we get Matt Harvey, who I love going against. His earned runs prop is 3.5 (+105), and he has one of the worst matchups a pitcher can get. The Astros are the best hitting team in baseball this year, especially in the month of June where they’re averaging 6.2 runs per game, slashing .298/.383/.499, and have MLB’s lowest strikeout rate.
None of that bodes well for Harvey, who’s allowed at least four earned runs in seven of his last nine starts and has an 11.73 ERA over that span. Harvey’s also been abysmal on the road this year with a 7.93 ERA, a 1.76 WHIP, and an .845 OPS against.
An interesting stat on the Astros is that they’re batting .311 with a .908 OPS in the fourth inning, which is the second time through the order for opposing pitchers. Houston should be able to score early and often against Harvey, who’ll be hard-pressed to survive the middle innings against their potent offense.
