NHL Bets of the Day: Best Hockey Picks Today 6/17/21

Mathew Barzal, New York Islanders vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Over 2.5 shots (+115)

The New York Islanders play the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night as the series shifts to Long Island for Game 3. Islanders center Mathew Barzal has been hot with eight points in his last seven games, including five goals and three assists. He’s also had three or more shots on goal in six of those games.

Despite all that, Barzal is somehow plus money on Thursday night when it comes to shots on net. Barzal’s speed should help him generate several scoring opportunities (his over on assists at 0.5 is +145, which may be worth considering as well). With the streak Barzal is on, I’m taking the over on shots again.

Islanders On Moneyline To Win Game 3 (+125)

New York comes in at +125 to win Game 3 on the moneyline, which is quite an enticing bet. While the Islanders have been pretty good on the road in the playoffs, there is definitely some magic at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where they’re 4-2 in the postseason thus far.

Look for New York to respond tonight after losing Game 2 and take advantage of that plus money. If you think they’ll win in regulation, consider rolling the dice on them at +190.
