I look at several different data points when deciding on what strikeout props to wager. In this case, I am looking at Giolito’s most recent performance, which has been phenomenal. In his last 4 starts, he has averaged just over 9 strikeouts and 7 innings.
He just faced the Tigers on June 5 and went 7 innings with 9 strikeouts.
I also look at the strength of the opposing lineup, and the Tigers lineup projects as the weakest on the board tonight. The Tigers have a 25 K% vs. RHP in the last 30 days, and Giolito has a 30 K% on the season.
When projecting strikeouts, I look at the K% plus how many batters the starting pitcher will face to get the projected number. I have Giolito facing 28 batters, while striking out 7.7 tonight — which means I like him to go over the 7.5 prop.
Aaron Civale, Cleveland Indians vs. Seattle Mariners (7:10 p.m. ET)

Civale is not known as a strikeout pitcher with only an 18 K% on the season. However, we get a low number here at 5.5 with some plus juice against a weak Mariners lineup.
I have the Mariners lineup projected as the second-weakest tonight, and with Civale on the rubber, Cleveland (-171) is a heavy favorite. The Mariners have struck out 27% of the time on the road vs right-handed pitchers in the last 30 days. What I love about Civale is his ability to go deep in games (6.7 innings per start).
He faced the Mariners in Seattle on May 14, going 6.2 innings and struck out 6 so we have some good matchup history.
My projections have Civale going 7 innings while striking out 7 tonight putting him well over the 5.5 K prop.
