  • vs. Buffalo Bills
  • vs. Miami Dolphins
  • vs. Arizona Cardinals
  • vs. San Francisco 49ers
  • vs. Atlanta Falcons
  • @ Denver Broncos
  • @ Indianapolis Colts
  • @ Tennessee Titans

  • @ New England Patriots
  • @ New York Jets
  • @ Seattle Seahawks

Three years removed from an AFC Championship appearance, the Jaguars seem to finally be trending in the right direction after completely blowing that 2017 squad up. Sure, the Jaguars traded studs that included Yannick Ngakoue and Jalen Ramsey in that time period, but in return, received draft capital. Finally, that capital could pay off.

Following a 1-15 season in 2020, the Jaguars fired HC Doug Marrone and GM Dave Caldwell. To replace them, the Jags hired Urban Meyer and Trent Baalke in those respective positions. In the first offseason in the Baalke/ Meyer era, they moved off of dead-weight player personnel to make room for new additions in free agency and the draft.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 Key Losses

  • WR Keelan Cole
  • WR Chris Conley
  • WR Dede Westbrook (unsigned)
  • RB Chris Thompson (unsigned)
  • CB D.J. Hayden (unsigned)

Jaguars 2021 Key Additions

  • WR Marvin Jones
  • LB Damien Wilson
  • RB Carlos Hyde
  • DL Al Woods
  • DB Shaquill Griffin
  • TE Chris Manhertz
  • S Rayshawn Jenkins
  • DL Malcolm Brown
  • RB Travis Etienne
  • QB Trevor Lawrence

The Jaguars did not lose a lot of talent. However, they did acquire an adequate amount of it. While their defense will be a work in progress this season, the Jaguars did sign Griffin, Brown, and Wilson, amongst others to get the unit on the right trajectory.

Offensively is where Baalke made his biggest splash. Not only did they draft Lawrence and Etienne, but the Jags were awfully busy in free agency. Signings that include Hyde, Jones, and Manhertz give a young offense veteran depth at key positions. Manhertz is an outstanding blocking tight end. Meyer likes to run the football — note the Darrell Bevell hire as offensive coordinator. You do the math on why he is important.

The Jaguars will look completely different in 2021. They may not win enough games to make a playoff run, but they will be victorious enough to show the league that they will be a force moving forward if Lawrence and Meyer can get their respective collegiate magic going at the pro level.

Jaguars 2021 Win Total Bet

2021 Jaguars Over 6.5 Wins (+100)

Maybe I am crazy here, but I like the Over on Jacksonville’s 6.5 win-total wager.

This is all about Trevor Lawrence and Urban Meyer for me. If the tremendous collegiate quarterback and head coach perform as advertised in the pros, the ceiling could be endless in Jacksonville. It won’t all come together in year one- they need to figure out the defense — but offensively, the Jags have enough firepower to hang with the best of them.

Despite only winning one game in 2020, the schedule is not in Jacksonville’s favor. They play six teams that won 10+ games (Titans, Colts, Bills, Dolphins, Rams, Seahawks). Two of those teams are in their own division, however.

The Jags also face off against teams with ample question marks, which is where they can pick up victories. Those teams include the Jets and Bengals. With the Titans going in the wrong direction and the Texans shaping out to be the laughing stock of the league, there is a world in which the Jaguars win seven games, just enough to hit this wager.

There aren’t many times I will go out on a limb, but this is one of them while garnering (+100) odds.
