Here’s your April 8 MLB Bet Tip for 4/8/21 MLB Bets. All odds were obtained from bet365.

I had a huge night on Wednesday, going 5-1-1 (+5.5 units), hitting on the Orioles, Mariners, Giants, Brewers/Cubs under and Royals/Indians under. I missed on the Rays and pushed on the Cardinals/Marlins under, which was an awful beat. The game was tied 0-0 heading into the seventh and the Cards were up 3-0 in the ninth before Dylan Carlson hit a grand slam. Tough break.

As always, you can find my bets, including any late additions to the card on my Twitter page @FAmmiranteTFJ. I’m rolling right now, going 9-4-1 in the last two games. Let’s keep it going!

  • Season: 17-13-1 (+4.05 units)
  • Sides: 10-7 (+4.05 units)
  • Game Totals: 3-3-1 (-0.35 units)
  • Team Totals: 1-3 (-2.75 units)
  • Props: 3-0 (+3.1 units)

April 8 MLB Bet Tips

Arizona Diamondbacks at Colorado Rockies, 3:10 p.m. ET

Probable Pitchers: RHP Merrill Kelly (ARI) vs. RHP Jon Gray (COL)

Rockies (-130)

Wager: 1.3 units (win would pay 1 unit)

I was able to get this number at -115 last night, but I still like it at -130. This is the rubber match of a three-game series between two division rivals. The D-Backs lost the game last night, but the bigger loss was to their best hitter, Ketel Marte, who appeared to suffer a severe hamstring injury.

This was already a below-average lineup with Marte, who was slashing .462/.500/.846 with two homers. It becomes one of the worst in baseball without him. The D-Backs have scored three runs or less in four of six games this season, including two shutouts.

They’ll have to go up against Jon Gray, who looked sharp in his season debut, firing five innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out seven. He’ll have a good chance to turn in another quality start against the D-Backs today.

The D-Backs will turn to Merrill Kelly, who struggled in his first start, lasting only four innings, allowing five hits, three runs and three walks while striking out four. Kelly has had issues with the long ball, giving up 1.4+ HR/9 in each of his last two seasons.

The Rockies have the pitching advantage in this game. They also have the hotter bats, having scored 16 runs in this series so far. We’re getting them at a pretty reasonable price even at -130 considering the current state of the D-Backs lineup. Look for the Rockies to take the rubber match today.
