Best Browns-Steelers Prop Bets for NFL Wild-Card Playoffs

Nick Chubb to get 70+ rushing yards and 1+ touchdowns (+200)

Nick Chubb is the heartbeat of Cleveland’s offense. It goes as he does. While his matchup with the Steelers is not necessarily a favorable one, Chubb is amongst, if not the best, pure rusher in the NFL.

Although Pittsburgh’s defense is amongst the league’s elite, it does have its holes. Especially recently, you can run on them. The Steelers ended 2020 allowing the 11th fewest rushing yards per game (111.4). They spent a lot of the season hovering in the top 10 in that category.

In each of the past three games to end regular season play, the Steelers allowed three different backs to reach 70+ rushing yards and 1+ touchdowns (Giovani Bernard, Jonathan Taylor, Chubb).=

In the season finale, Chubb rushed for 108 yards and a score on 14 carries facing off against this Pittsburgh unit. He did not play in their matchup from earlier in the year, however.

Chubb would have hit this prop in 7-of-12 games played in 2020.

JuJu Smith-Schuster anytime touchdown scorer (+140)

JuJu Smith-Schuster has been in the midst of controversy this season. Not only has he danced on the Bengals’ logo, firing up a dead in the water Cincinnati team enough to pull off a victory that must have felt like a Super Bowl win for the perennially inept franchise, but he also gave the Browns some bulletin board material by essentially calling the Browns, the Browns entering their Wild-Card Weekend meeting.

However, Smith-Schuster has played well down the stretch following an erratic start to the year. In his past nine games since Week 9, Smith-Schuster scored a touchdown in six of them and three times in his final four games, including in two straight to close out the season.

The Browns, well, they are, in fact, the Browns. While the Browns have yielded the fourth-most touchdowns to enemy wideouts this season, they surrendered four total receiving scores in their final two games to the wide receiver position.

Smith-Schuster dropped a 6/85/1 stat line on eight targets in Week 17 against Cleveland.

Baker Mayfield to get Over 12.5 rushing yards (-115)

Baker Mayfield is a mobile quarterback but does not take off as much as some of the others. However, he is very capable. While he’s gone over 12.5 rushing yards only four times this season, I expect him to pull out all the stops on Sunday night.

While in five career meetings with Pittsburgh, Mayfield has only gone over this total one time, that happened back in Week 17, another must-have spot. Mayfield rushed for 44 yards on six carries in that season finale outing.

With Joel Bitonio sidelined (COVID list), Mayfield will be feeling the heat from the Steelers’ pass rush. This 12.5 rushing yards total can be met on one play. Considering the situation, I would not mind pulling the trigger on this Over.

Including Mayfield, the Steelers have allowed eight different quarterbacks to rush for more than 12.5 yards on them in 2020.
