12/30/20 NBA Player Prop Bets: Hayward, Irving

Last Updated: Jan 8, 2021

12/30/20 NBA Player Prop Bets: Wednesday has a six-game slate for Dec. 30 player props, and I’m back with three more wagers.

We ran the table Monday, going 3-0 with my player prop picks. That helped improve my season record to 4-3.

All odds were obtained from PointsBet.

12/30/20 NBA Player Prop Bets

Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks

Over 25.5 Points (-125)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.80)

Irving will be fresh for this game after having sat out Monday’s matchup with the Grizzlies for rest. Despite having to share the spotlight with Kevin Durant, Irving still has a 28.1% usage rate through three games. That allowed him to score at least 25 points in each contest.

This could be a high-scoring affair against a potent Hawks team, so look for Irving to score in bunches and hit the over.

Gordon Hayward, Charlotte Hornets at Dallas Mavericks

Over 22.5 Points + Assists (-115)

Wager: 1.25 units (win would pay 1.87)

Hayward has been busy with his new squad, playing at least 35 minutes in each of their first three games. He did have one quiet performance against the Thunder in which he had 12 points and seven assists.

However, he shot just 5-for-13 from the field in that game, which is uncharacteristic for him since he has shot at least 46.6% from the field in each of the last four seasons.

In the other two games, he combined for 35 total points and assists in both contests. Don’t be surprised if he blows past this total.

P.J. Washington, Charlotte Hornets at Dallas Mavericks

Over 5.5 Rebounds (-137)

Wager: 1.25 units (win would pay 2.16)

After signing Hayward and drafting LaMelo Ball, it was expected that the Hornets would play a lot of small ball this season. They have further trended in that direction after Cody Zeller was lost in the first game of the season. Washington has been one of their primary rebounders in two games since then, logging eight and 12 boards, respectively. I like his chances of remaining busy on the boards against a Mavericks team that is still without the services of Kristaps Porzingis (knee).
