1/4/21 NBA Player Prop Bets: Monday brings a nine-game slate in the NBA that is filled with betting opportunities for Jan. 4 NBA player props. I’ll look to improve my season record of 4-6 (-2.81 units) with the following three wagers to consider.

All odds were obtained from PointsBet.

Over 13.5 Points (-134)

Wager: 1.25 units (win would pay 2.18)

Let’s start our Jan. 4 NBA player props from long distance.

It was no secret that the 76ers headed into the offseason needing to improve their three-point shooting. They did just that by bringing in Curry, who has shot at least 45% from behind the arc in three of the last four seasons.

He has jumped right into the starting five, averaging 30 minutes a night through six games. That’s enabled him to score at least 17 points in a game four times, including 21 points when they faced these same Hornets on Saturday.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him blow past the Over.

Harrison Barnes, Sacramento Kings at Golden State Warriors

Player Prop

-110

H.Barnes : o15.5 Points

Over 15.5 Points (-110)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.91)

Barnes might not be a big name, but he’s a key member of the Kings. He averaged 35 minutes a night last season and has been just as busy out of the gate by averaging 36 minutes per contest.

Add in a lack of scoring options behind him on the bench and Barnes has averaged 16.3 points a night and scored at least 19 points in both of the last two games.

This is an ideal matchup for him to hit the over considering the Warriors have played at the second-fastest pace in the league and allowed an average of 123.7 points per contest.

Richaun Holmes, Sacramento Kings at Golden State Warriors

Player Prop

-134

R.Holmes: o8.5 Rebounds

Over 8.5 Rebounds (-134)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.75)

Holmes had a breakout campaign last season, averaging 12.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. The key was that he averaged 28 minutes a game, which was by far the highest mark of his career.

There was some concern about his playing time this season with Hassan Whiteside in the fold, but after just six games, Whiteside appears to have already fallen out of favor. He hasn’t played more than 18 minutes in a game and didn’t see the floor at all Saturday against the Rockets.

With his secure minutes, Holmes has grabbed at least nine rebounds in five of six games. Add in the up-tempo pace at which the Warriors play and double-digit rebounds could be in the cards for Holmes.
