The Clemson Tigers have been a mainstay at the top of the ACC, including winning the conference in seven of the last eight seasons. Even so, many would argue, myself included, that the last three seasons have been down seasons for the perennial National Championship contenders.
With highly touted quarterback Cade Klubnik and last year’s assistant coach of the year Garrett Riley taking control of the offense, the Tigers appear primed for another college football playoff run in 2023.

Clemson has been a mainstay near the top of the CFB National Championship odds for the last 10 seasons and should be even higher this season.
The struggles with D.J. Ugalieli are a thing of the past as Klubnik and Riley take the reins, and the offense should return to form with one of the top quarterbacks and offenses in the country.
Defensively, Clemson will again be a top unit in the nation as they’ve consistently finished in the top five under Dabo Swinney. The defense had a couple of key pieces head to the NFL but still returns eight starters.
After a couple of “down-years” by the incredibly high standards at Clemson, it’s time for the Tigers to return to College Football’s elite and make a run at another title.
Clemson: Win ACC Conference Tournament (+160)

The oddsmakers have the ACC as a two-horse race to start the season with Clemson atop the odds board at (+160), trailed closely behind by Florida State at (+170).
The Seminoles were impressive last season and took a giant leap forward, but this Clemson team also improved this offseason and should be able to stave off the Seminoles and continue their reign over the ACC.
Clemson has a far superior defensive unit, is more proven, and gets the benefit of having their toughest matchups at home – including Florida State in late September.

We briefly touched on the Clemson schedule above, but betting the Tigers to go Over 10 wins is the best way to capitalize on a weak schedule. The Tigers get Notre Dame, North Carolina, and Florida State – the three toughest games on the schedule – at home.
The defense will likely be the best unit in the conference, as they have been for at least the last five seasons. And Garrett Riley took a far less talented offense to incredible heights last season.
Clemson has reached double-digit wins in the last 12(!) seasons, so there isn’t a reason to think they don’t reach and cross that threshold again in 2023.
Cade Klubnik: Win Heisman Trophy (+1400)
Klubnik is one of my Heisman Trophy best bets, and I think he’s going to set the ACC and the nation on fire this season. The issue for Clemson across the last two seasons has been the quarterback play, and in limited action, Klubnik showed some impressive flashes.
The wide receiver room has a couple of question marks heading into the year, but the offensive line returns four starters and a ton of depth, which should be enough to set up the highly touted sophomore quarterback for a fantastic season.
