NHL Parlays Today

Last Updated: 4 hours ago

While we only have two games to choose from for our NHL parlays on Monday, we can try to get creative to find value on a shorter slate.

There are two intriguing matchups on tap with the Lightning vs Panthers and Stars vs Golden Knights.

Here are my top NHL parlays for Monday, April 29.

NHL odds used for these NHL parlay bets are current as of 10 a.m. ET on Monday, April 29, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Best NHL Parlays Today

Top NHL Parlay (+191)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

  • Lightning +1.5 (-162) at Panthers
  • Stars/Golden Knights Under 6 (-125)

NHL Top Parlay: April 29

The top parlay starts off with the Lightning +1.5 as they try to stay alive for the second straight game.

Two of Tampa Bay’s three losses in this series have been by one goal.

In other words, the Lightning deserve better than a 3-1 series deficit here. We saw Tampa dominate en route to a 6-3 win in Game 4.

Look for a strong effort on the road to try to keep this series going. I like taking +1.5 because if they lose by one goal, we still hit this one.

I’ll finish it off with Under 6 goals in the Stars vs Golden Knights matchup.

The Under has hit in two of three games in this series so far.

I’m projecting the Knights to turn in a much better defensive effort after allowing 46 shots in Game 3.

Parlay the Lightning +1.5 and the Stars-Golden Knights Under 6.5 as your NHL bet of the day.

Best NHL Same Game Parlay Today

Stars vs Golden Knights SGP (+140)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

  • Jamie Benn Under 2.5 Shots on Goal (-166)
  • Roope Hintz Under 2.5 Shots on Goal (-166)

NHL Same Game Parlay: April 29

We’re headed back to the Stars vs Golden Knights matchup for tonight’s Same Game Parlay.

I mentioned how the Golden Knights allowed 46 shots on goal in Game 3 after giving up only 21 in Game 2.

Vegas is usually sound defensively, so we don’t see them allow so many shots on net.

I’m expecting them to control this game and limit scoring chances for the Stars, which is why I’m targeting Jamie Benn and Roope Hintz to go Under 2.5 shots on goal.

Each of these two forwards have gone Under this number in two of three games during this series.

What is an NHL Parlay Bet?

Parlays are one of the most popular types of wagers because they provide higher payouts than a traditional straight bet. However, they also inherently bring about the most risk.

Essentially, a parlay is a wager that encompasses multiple straight bets, which all individually must hit for the collective parlay to win.

When betting hockey parlays, you can combine multiple bet types, including moneylines, puck lines, totals, and player props.

NHL props include goals, assists, points, shots on goal, blocked shots, goalie saves, and more.

Your parlays can include bets from several games or you can stick to one with a Same Game Parlay.

With that in mind, let’s get into how NHL parlay betting works.

How NHL Parlay Betting Works

When building an NHL parlay, you are essentially combining multiple straight wagers, also known as legs, into one larger bet.

Doing this increases the wager’s odds (and potential returns), as each individual bet has to hit for the parlay to win. Thus, the odds of each individual bet are multiplied to calculate the parlay odds.

For example, let’s say I want to bet on the New York Rangers as -230 favorites to defeat the New York Islanders. Normally, I would have to wager $23 to win $10.

However, if I put the Rangers in a parlay with the Colorado Avalanche (-115), who in this situation are short favorites to beat the Vegas Golden Knights, the parlay odds would balloon up to +168. Now, my $23 wager would return just over $38 in profit.

NHL parlay betting is particularly intriguing because of the unpredictability of the sport. Underdogs win games all the time, even in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so you can potentially score some big payouts if you pick and choose the right spots.

Best NHL Parlay Betting Sites

When betting NHL parlays, choosing a sportsbook that can best serve your specific needs is vital.

Whether you’re looking to parlay the best NHL player props or want to take advantage of promotional offers like odds boosts or parlay insurance, there’s an online sportsbook that can accommodate you.

Let’s look at the best NHL betting sites for building parlays:

DraftKings Sportsbook

DraftKings Sportsbook is the NHL’s official sports-betting partner, making it the perfect place to build your hockey parlays.

In addition to all the traditional NHL betting markets, DraftKings offers a bevy of game and player props, which you can use to build a same game parlay.

There are also typically plenty of parlay promotions on the site, so keep an eye out for the latest NHL offers.

FanDuel Sportsbook

The creator of the same game parlay, FanDuel Sportsbook revolutionized parlay betting as we know it.

FanDuel lets users parlay essentially any market, creating the potential for huge payouts. You can even parlay futures bets, like the NHL MVP and Stanley Cup winner.

This site offers a wide variety of NHL props and daily specials. It also has a parlay builder feature that helps users parlay various props without having to click into each specific game.

Caesars Sportsbook

Caesars doesn’t have the same smoothness when it comes to building same game parlays, but it makes up for that in other ways.

For one, it has plenty of NHL prop markets, including a wide variety of game props like winning margin, race to X goals, first-, second-, or third-period betting, and more.

It also has Caesars Rewards, a VIP rewards program that offers legitimate benefits, such as free hotel stays at various Caesars properties and discounts with other partner companies.

BetMGM Sportsbook

BetMGM is a renowned operator with plenty of odds boosts to enhance the value of your parlay wagers.

You’ll find a number of bet types available for your NHL parlays, which are organized in a layout that makes it easy to build your combinations.

Additionally, BetMGM’s competitive hockey odds help set it apart from the rest of the market.

bet365 Sportsbook

bet365 is one of the most popular sportsbooks around, featuring a wide selection of betting markets, including the NHL.

Not only will you find an assortment of player props to use in your NHL bets, but you can also create parlays with live betting, which is only sometimes available on other platforms.

You’ll also enjoy useful promos such as early payout and odds boosts, so don’t miss out at bet365.

How to Pick the Best NHL Parlay Betting Sites

It’s important to establish a criteria for evaluating the best NHL parlay betting sites.

Keep these attributes in mind when making your selection:

Welcome Bonuses

Welcome bonuses are important because they stack your bankroll with bonus bets just for signing up to a new betting site.

The best type of welcome bonuses are Bet & Get offers, where you’re awarded with bonuses just for placing your first $5+ wager, even if your bet loses.

Player Props

You want your sportsbook to have a large selection of player props to use in your NHL parlays because these are easier than sides or totals.

The best props to look for include shots on goal, goalie saves, powerplay points, and more.

Same Game Parlays

Same Game Parlays allow you to combine multiple wagers from a single game for a chance at a higher payout.

Some sportsbooks don’t allow Same Game Parlays for NHL, or if they do, their options are limited, so look for a site that offers a larger selection.

Odds Boosts

Odds boosts are when certain bet types have enhanced odds, giving you a chance at more profit.

The more odds boosts available at a site, the more opportunities you will have to increase the value of your wagers.

Best NHL Parlay Betting Promotions

Make sure to keep an eye out for the latest NHL sportsbook betting promotions, such as the following:

Parlay Bonuses

Parlay bonuses are where you receive a profit boost on your potential winnings, usually around 30%.

These are helpful because you can win more money on your parlays. Whether you use your boost on a parlay of favorites or underdogs, either move is helpful.

Parlay Insurance

Parlay insurance involves you receiving bonus bets if your parlay of at least three legs loses.

This is a helpful promotion because you’re awarded with bonuses even if you lose. This gives you some leeway to shoot for the moon on a longshot parlay since you’re getting a refund regardless.

Early Payouts

Early payouts are where your pre-game moneyline NHL bet is graded as a win if your team leads by three goals at any point in the game.

Even if your team blows the lead and loses, you’ll still have a winning wager. This also goes for parlays, where the leg is marked as a win. You can find this promo at bet365.

Cash-out Options

Cash-out options allow you to take an early win on your straight bet or parlay, even if the game is still going on.

This can be particularly useful in parlays. For example, let’s say that you made a five-leg parlay, and four have already hit. If offered a decent price, you can cash out and secure some profit before the fifth leg occurs.

Best NHL Parlay Bets

There are several different types of NHL parlay bets. Here are some of the most common ones:

Multi-Leg Parlays

Multi-leg parlays allow you to choose bet types from several different games. These can include moneylines, totals, props, and more.

What’s great about multi-leg parlays is that since there’s no correlation, you won’t get reduced odds as you would in same game parlays.

Same Game Parlays

Same Game Parlays are where your multi-leg bet comes from a single game. While you can mostly choose any NHL bet type for this, some sportsbooks reduce your options, so keep that in mind.

This type of bet can give you reduced odds if you choose props with a strong correlation, such as Nathan MacKinnon to score and Mikko Rantanen to assist since they play on the same line.

On the other hand, you can get enhanced odds with negative correlation, such as Sergei Bobrovsky going Over his saves prop and his opponent going Over its team total for goals.

Round Robins

Round robins involve breaking one larger parlay into several smaller parlays. Essentially, you’re covering yourself in case you miss only one leg.

With this bet type, you’re staking more money but giving yourself more “outs” or opportunities to generate a profit.

NHL Parlay Betting Strategies

Here are some NHL parlay betting strategies to use in your hockey wagers:

  • Risk fewer units on parlays than straight bets since they’re harder to win.
  • Combine a few favorites for a safer parlay.
  • Select several underdogs for a longshot parlay.
  • Create a Same Game Parlay with correlated outcomes for a higher win probability.
  • Build a Same Game Parlay with a negative correlation for a better payout.
  • Include a Round Robin on larger parlays with longshot odds.
