It’s the dawn of a new day in the WNBA. The start of the regular season is just around the corner, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting to date.
All eyes are on Caitlin Clark, but we can’t help but wonder who will play in the 2024 WNBA Finals. The Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty are expected to return to the grand stage, but could a new contender knock either of them off along the way?

As expected, the Aces lead the pack at (+100). Las Vegas is looking for a three-peat in 2024 after defeating the Liberty in 2023 and Sun in 2022.
The Fever, who finished with the third-worst record in the league this past season, are tied for the fifth-best odds after adding Clark to a talented core featuring Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.
2024 WNBA Finals Best Bet

Who else but the Aces? We still have an entire season’s worth of basketball to be played — and this (+100) tag isn’t all that appealing — but this team is coming off one of the most dominant campaigns in league history and is only getting better.
Leading the way on both ends of the floor is reigning Defensive Player of the Year and two-time MVP A’ja Wilson, who averaged career-high marks in points (22.8), rebounds (9.5), blocks (2.2), and steals (1.4) per game this past season.
Las Vegas also rosters two of the league’s most talented scorers in Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray is arguably the best point guard in the WNBA. This group has virtually no weaknesses.
I’d be surprised to see this number get any higher during the regular season. Get in now at (+100) and make this your WNBA bet of the day.
2024 WNBA Finals Favorites
New York Liberty (+250)

The Liberty, not the Aces, enter the 2024 WNBA season with the most to prove. New York made a huge leap in 2023 after adding WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart and All-Star center Jonquel Jones, but the team came up short in the Finals, losing 3-1 to Las Vegas.
Sandy Brondello’s squad returns largely the same roster, which is good and bad. The Liberty are undoubtedly a superteam, but they desperately need a defensive-minded guard to shore up resistance along the perimeter.
Last year proved this team can only go so far as currently constructed. Unless New York makes a splash and adds someone who can defend at the point of attack, I would stay away from this bet at (+250).
Connecticut Sun (+1000)

Expectations were somewhat low for the Sun heading into the 2023 season, but that didn’t stop them from going 27-13 and advancing to the WNBA Semifinals. Four-time All-Star Alyssa Thomas had a breakout campaign, finishing second in MVP and Defensive Player of the Year voting.
The additions of Moriah Jefferson and Tiffany Mitchell have the potential to move the needle, but ultimately, this is still a team defined by its stars. Outside of Thomas, Connecticut boasts some serious top-end talent in DeWanna Bonner and Brionna Jones.
With that said, it remains difficult to see the Sun getting by either the Aces or Liberty and winning the 2024 WNBA Finals. At this price, there are better bets available.
2024 WNBA Finals Contenders
Seattle Storm (+1400)

Seattle won just 11 games in 2023, but this group is in an excellent position to be this year’s most improved. The Storm added six-time All-Star Skylar Diggins-Smith and former MVP Nneka Ogwumike to build around Jewell Loyd, who averaged a league-high 24.7 points per game this past season.
Suddenly, Seattle looks poised to return to its winning ways. Diggins-Smith hasn’t played since 2022, but at her best, she’s an All-WNBA staple. Ogwumike, on the other hand, is a terrific two-way talent and is still seeking her first WNBA title.
It could take some time for the Storm to build some continuity, but on paper, this looks like one of the most talented rosters in the league. I’d suggest a half-unit wager at (+1400).
Dallas Wings (+2500)

The Wings fell victim to the Aces in the 2023 WNBA Playoffs, but they didn’t go out quietly. Despite the 3-0 series sweep, Dallas kept things close throughout, losing by just three points to the eventual champions in Game 3.
The season was punctuated by the emergence of Satou Sabally, who won WNBA Most Improved Player after posting career-high marks in points (18.6), rebounds (8.1), assists (4.4), and steals (1.8) per game. The 26-year-old is a real weapon alongside Arike Ogunbowale and Natasha Howard.
Dallas still has a ways to go before it can be considered one of the league’s top contenders, but the foundation is certainly there.
2024 WNBA Finals Sleepers
Indiana Fever (+2500)

The Fever would fetch a few bets to win the WNBA Finals regardless of the price. The addition of No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark isn’t only a franchise-defining move, but a league-defining one. No player has ever driven as much attention to the WNBA.
Clark will undoubtedly shine in Year 1, but I’m a little more excited to see what Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, and NaLyssa Smith can do alongside her. Boston and Mitchell were All-Stars in 2023, and there were times when Smith looked like the team’s best player.
Going from a 13-win season to winning the WNBA Finals would be shocking, to say the least, but the hype is real. I’m not opposed to throwing a smaller wager on Indiana and letting it ride.
Minnesota Lynx (+6000)

The Lynx are a deep sleeper, but they made enough noise in 2023 to warrant a blurb. Led by WNBA First-Teamer Napheesa Collier, Minnesota is a gritty team that’s more than capable of punching above its weight.
This group made some big moves in the offseason, too, acquiring veteran guard Natisha Hiedeman from the Sun and signing Courtney Williams and Alana Smith via free agency.
It’ll take a lot for the Lynx to compete with the league’s heavyweights, but there exists a scenario in which they’re one of the WNBA’s top four teams in 2024.
