On Sunday, May 10, West Ham and Arsenal will face off, with Arsenal set to take on Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, May 5.

At the time of this preview, that match hasn’t happened yet, so we’re unsure of Arsenal’s fate, which was a 1-1 aggregate heading into it.

That said, Arsenal is a -185 road favorite in this spot against West Ham, who are +430 at home.

Arsenal is coming off a 3-0 Premier League win over Fulham on Saturday, May 2, while West Ham is coming off a 3-0 defeat to Brentford.

West Ham is currently in line for relegation, alongside Burnley and Wolverhampton. Meanwhile, Arsenal is atop the Premier League with 76 points.

Thus, this is a David vs. Goliath-like battle.

With so much up for grabs, especially with West Ham, I’ll preview both teams and provide a prediction below.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal is on the brink of its first-ever UEFA Champions League final if it can take down Atletico Madrid. If they do, they’ll face off against the winner of PSG and Bayern Munich.

In the Premier League, Arsenal has been excellent, posting 67 goals and allowing just 26. Their offense should be even better, though, as they have an xG of 70.92. Meanwhile, their xGA is 30.61, so their defense has gotten a bit lucky. Still, their xG and xGA lead the Premier League.

As mentioned, there’s still the match against Atletico Madrid, but the injury report currently includes Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, and Jurrien Timber.

Predicted Lineup: Álex Baena, Johnny Cardoso, Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyökeres, Piero Hincapié, Ademola Lookman, Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli, David Raya, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Ben White, Martín Zubimendi.

West Ham Preview

West Ham fell into the relegation zone after Tottenham took down Aston Villa on Sunday, and now it doesn’t get any easier as they face the top team in the Premier League, Arsenal.

Entering this match, West Ham has played 35 matches and is 9-9-17. They’ve scored 42 goals and have allowed 61. Their xG is just 44.63, which is sixth-worst in the Premier League. Meanwhile, their xGA is 62.6, which is third-worst in the Premier League.

Their leading scorer is Jarrod Bowen with eight goals and 10 assists.

West Ham has also struggled at home, going 5-4-8 and allowing 29 goals (fourth-worst among home teams in the Premier League).

This team just doesn’t have a lot of goal-scoring potential to go up against a squad like Arsenal.

Predicted Lineup: Mads Hermansen, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Axel Disasi, Mateus Fernandes, Tomas Soucek, Jarrod Bowen, Pablo Felipe, Taty Castellanos, Kyle Walker-Peters, Crysenico Summerville.

Arsenal vs. West Ham Prediction

I just cannot fathom a way West Ham wins this match. Barring some catastrophic injuries to Arsenal against Atletico Madrid, West Ham simply doesn’t have the offense to keep pace with Arsenal.

Arsenal -185 is the pick.
