EuroLeague and Clubs Valued at Over €3.2 Billion

In March 2026, EuroLeague Basketball put out a press release with the findings of JB Capital, an alternative asset manager and direct private lender based in Bellevue, Washington, related to the valuation of the league and its teams.

The company gave a “combined enterprise value” of the league and the licensed teams of over €3.2 billion, which is the equivalent of more than $3.7 billion USD.

The report also found that the league itself, EuroLeague Basketball, is valued at €1.41 billion for the 2025-26 season. Then, using that same valuable multiple, it provided an estimated EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) of about €1.64.

The press release said that the projections were “underpinned by strong financial fundamentals, with league management forecasting sustained revenue and EBITDA growth exceeding a 10% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from the 2022–23 through the 2034–35 seasons.”

EuroLeague Basketball Team Valuations

As for the teams, the study found that the aggregator valuation of all licensed teams was about €1.8 billion. The individual club valuations came from using “revenue-based multiples,” and the figure range anywhere from €60 million to more than €320 million. The press release said that those figures reflected the “growing commercial strength and competitive profile of participating organizations.

Looking Ahead

The press release also noted that the analysis by JB Capital showed there was upside for further growth. It said that the combined value of the clubs and league could increase by up to 25% after the current 10-year licensing framework, and there’s a permanent franchise structure. It also mentioned that additional expansion of franchises could “unlock even greater long-term value,” which EuroLeague Basketball says reinforces “the league’s position as one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing properties in global professional sport.”

As a result, EuroLeague Basketball could reach a valuation of about €4.3 billion by the 2026-27 season.

EuroLeague and NBA Collaborate on New League

This news came at a time when EuroLeague Basketball and the NBA were coming together to form a new European Basketball league. Earlier this month, the NBA and FIBA said they were going through bids.

“Right now, we’re just going through that process of narrowing down those bids into a little bit of a short list and trying to go out and continue to build partnerships with the right people in those markets,” NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum said.

Officials from the NBA, FIBA, and EuroLeague were meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday, April 28, to discuss further.

“We hope to be able to come together with the EuroLeague to align on the right system and the right setup here,” Tatum added. “That’s our goal with those guys moving forward.”

The NBA is always looking to expand the league, especially into Europe. The NBA has seen a rise in talent from that part of the world, including Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama, and Luka Doncic.

Following the meeting on April 28, FIBA said that “all three parties agreed on continuing the conversation in the upcoming weeks.”
