Bayern Munich vs. Paris Saint-Germain Leg 2 Match Preview

On Wednesday, May 6, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain faced off in the second leg of the two-leg matchup. These teams last played on Tuesday, April 28, in a back-and-forth affair, with PSG coming away with a 5-4 win. This game will be played at Allianz Arena, home of Bayern Munich, though PSG are slight favorites at -114 over Bayern Munich at -105 per FanDuel Sportsbook.

At one point, Bayern Munich was down 5-2 and nearly came back, but was stopped before it could. Here, I’d expect another high-scoring matchup and not as much defense, as we saw in the first leg.

Below, I’ll preview this matchup and show where fans can watch.

Bayern Munich Preview

Bayern Munich is the home team for this matchup after coming up short 5-4 against PSG. In Bundesliga play, they’re coming off a 3-3 draw against Heidenheim.

This squad has Vincent Kompany as their manager, and he’s one of the best, coming over from Burnley after 2024. Of course, Kompany was suspended in the first leg game due to his third yellow card in the quarterfinal, but Aaron Danks stepped in nicely.

Bayern Munich will look to lean heavily on Harry Kane, who’s just been sensational this season. He’s scored 13 Champions League goals, which is two shy of the record, set previously by Jürgen Klinsmann in the 1995-96 UEFA Cup and Robert Lewandowski in the 2019-20 Champions League. Not only that, but Kane has scored in his last six appearances.

Before the 5-4 loss, Bayern Munich had beaten PSG five times in a row.

Bayern will be without Sven Ulreich, Raphael Guerreiro, and Serge Gnabry. Tom Bischof returned against Heidenheim. There’s a chance Lennart Karl could play.

Predicted Lineup: Luis Díaz, Harry Kane, Joshua Kimmich, Konrad Laimer, Jamal Musiala, Manuel Neuer, Michael Olise, Aleksandar Pavlović, Josip Stanišić, Jonathan Tah, Dayot Upamecano.

Paris Saint-Germain Preview

PSG is another team that can score at will. They have so many players that can win one-on-one, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé, who both scored twice in the last matchup, will be hard to stop.

PSG is coming off a 2-2 match against Lorient in Ligue 1. Of course, many players were sitting in preparation for this massive Bayern Munich road match.

Injury-wise, PSG won’t have Achraf Hakimi or Quentin Ndjantou. Hakimi is a big loss, as his support in attack has been a key cog in PSG’s run.

Remember, Bayern Munich needs to come away with at least a 2-goal win to not force extra time. We’ll see if PSG’s speed can outpace Bayern Munich.

Predicted Lineup: Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nuno Mendes, João Neves, Willian Pacho, Marquinhos, Fabián Ruiz, Matvey Safonov, Vitinha, Warren Zaïre-Emery.
