JJ Gabriel, the highly-rated youngster from Manchester United’s Under-18 team, was tipped to make his first senior appearance on Friday against Rosenborg. While he ultimately spent the game on the bench, this young star has been attracting attention and will surely feature in Manchester United’s plans soon - so who is he?
Who is JJ Gabriel?
JJ Gabriel has played as a forward for Manchester United’s U18 team since 2022. Aged just 15, he was called up to the main Manchester United squad ahead of a friendly game against Rosenborg. While he ultimately didn’t play (to the disappointment of United fans), Gabriel responded with a message on social media simply saying “Patience,” showing real maturity for a player of that age.
His message has another important connotation - it suggests that JJ Gabriel is well aware that he is likely to be part of Michael Carrick’s plans for the upcoming season.
