NY Betting Goes Online for NFL Playoffs & Super Bowl

The wait is finally over. Online sports betting arrived in New York State on Saturday, at 9 a.m. ET.

With over 20 million residents, New York State is quickly expected to be one of the biggest betting markets in the United States and is a major domino to fall as more states activate legal sports betting.

New Yorkers will be able to sign up for sportsbooks just in time to bet on some of the biggest events in all of sports, including the College Football Playoff National Championship, March Madness, and much more all within the first few months of 2022.

Mainly, it’s perfect timing to bet on the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl 56.

How Can I Bet In New York Online?

While New Yorkers have had access to in-person sports betting at casinos within the state since 2019, this is a seismic shift for residents of New York City and the surrounding areas who often found themselves crossing the border into New Jersey or Connecticut to legally place wagers.

Four major sportsbook operators will be allowed to open up shop in New York on Saturday:

In November, the New York State Gaming Commission granted licenses to five additional sportsbook operators. However, since Caesars, Rush Street Interactive, FanDuel, and DraftKings already had established partnerships with various New York casinos, they get primary access to the market.
