49ers vs Jaguars Predictions Week 11 | NFL Pick of the Day

The San Francisco 49ers (4-5) got back on track with a huge blowout home win against the division rival Rams on Monday Night Football. The Niners are now firmly in contention for an NFC Wild Card spot.

Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7) have played better football lately, upsetting the Bills in Week 9 and losing by six to the Colts on Sunday. They’ll try to build on those performances against the 49ers this week.

San Francisco looked really good against the Rams. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was efficient. The running game controlled the clock. Deebo Samuel was explosive. The defense bottled up Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ passing attack.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars continue to struggle on offense. Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been a colossal disappointment, averaging only 6.0 yards per attempt with eight touchdown passes and nine interceptions on the season.

Continue reading to find out why I think the 49ers will build on their Monday Night Football win when they take on the Jaguars.

Please note that all NFL gameday odds are current as of 12:00 p.m. ET on Friday, November 19.

49ers vs Jaguars Prediction

The 49ers are finally fully healthy on offense. George Kittle‘s return gives the team a dynamic weapon to win in the intermediate passing game. Kittle also really helps the running game with his blocking. It’s also encouraging to see Brandon Aiyuk once again integrated into the offense.

The defense showed signs of life against the Rams, picking off Matthew Stafford twice and limiting him to only 243 passing yards and a touchdown. They should have a field day against one of the worst offenses in the NFL.

The Jaguars are averaging 16.6 points per game this season, which only ranks ahead of the Houston Texans (14.2 PPG) league-wide. Jacksonville has combined for just 33 points in its last three games. It’s hard to see the Jaguars having much success against a 49ers’ defense that finally started to produce to its expectation against the Rams.

On the other side, Jacksonville’s defense just allowed Colts running back Jonathan Taylor to rush for 116 yards and a touchdown while averaging 5.5 yards per carry. That unit is in for a tough task against the Kyle Shanahan running game.

Shanahan should be able to scheme up efficient production on the ground for Jeff Wilson Jr., who is expected to lead the backfield as starter Elijah Mitchell recovers from a broken finger.

Coming into the season, the 49ers were considered Super Bowl contenders. They’re a much more talented team than their 4-5 record.

Their win against the Rams could be the start of a winning streak to get them back into contention. Look for San Francisco to keep things rolling on Sunday.

Prediction: 49ers 27, Jaguars 13

49ers vs Jaguars Best Bets

Best Bet: 49ers -6.5 (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 2 Units

The 49ers should be able to control the clock with their running game. Jacksonville’s defense has been among the worst in the NFL, especially against the pass, so we could see another efficient performance from Jimmy Garoppolo as well.

The Jaguars are going to find it tough to move the ball against an improving 49ers defense. Trevor Lawrence hasn’t gotten it done as a rookie. Look for his struggles to continue in this spot.

Laying 6.5 points on the road always seems daunting, but this is a spot where you have the more talented team showing signs of putting it all together going up against a struggling offense.

Look for the 49ers to take care of business and make this your NFL bet of the day.

Best Bet: Under 45 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 2 Units

The Under is 7-2 in Jaguars games as this team just continues to really struggle on offense. It’s hard to see that changing against San Francisco.

Meanwhile, 49ers’ games have gone under in five of nine. If San Francisco controls the game on the ground as I expect, it will be tough for this total to hit the Over.

This looks like a run-heavy game script, which will make it tough for these teams to score enough points to push the total over.

Roll with the Under in this spot.
