The unranked North Carolina Tar Heels will head to South Bend to take on the No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish in this Week 9 college football matchup.
UNC (4-3) has gotten off to a shaky start so far but has pulled off some impressive victories recently, including their win over Miami and blowout of Duke. They have not played the same caliber of opponents that Notre Dame has, which bodes well for the Fighting Irish in this matchup.
Notre Dame (6-1) has won four of its last five games. They lost to No. 2 Cincinnati but have a double-digit victory over USC, a win over Virginia Tech, and two more double-digit wins over Wisconsin and Purdue.

UNC vs. Notre Dame Prediction
As previously mentioned, Notre Dame is a considerably better squad than North Carolina.
Notre Dame has faced far tougher opponents to this point in the season and has proven themselves, justifying their ranking as the 11th-best team in college football.
If the Fighting Irish had a noticeable issue with their team, it would be at quarterback. Jack Coan has looked lost at points during the season, but Drew Pyne and Tyler Buchner have been excellent as supplemental pieces under center.
UNC might not be good enough to totally hang with Notre Dame, but they are not an awful team by any means.

Best Bet: Notre Dame -3.5 (-110) at Caesars
Wager: 2 units
As previously mentioned, Notre Dame has looked very solid, especially on the defensive end. UNC has proven capable of putting points on the board in a hurry, but I still envision Notre Dame neutralizing their offensive efforts.
Notre Dame’s offense has looked below-average at times with Jack Coan under center, but I believe they are good enough holistically to overcome his shortcomings.
Back Notre Dame by a field goal for 2 units. I would take the spread down to -4.5.
Best Bet: Under 62.5 (-110) at Caesars
Wager: 0.75 units
This game is capable of going over if UNC is capable of controlling the offensive pace and flow, but Notre Dame’s defense should inhibit that somewhat.
If Jack Coan has an off game and the Notre Dame defense comes to play in Week 9, I’m fully expecting this game to go under.
Stay cautious, though, considering these offenses can explode at any time.
