January 13 NBA Prop Bet Tips: Luka Doncic, C.J. McCollum

For Monday, Mike Barner has your January 13 NBA Prop bet tips and 1/13/21 NBA Player Prop Bets. All odds were obtained from PointsBet.

I started off the week on a high note, going 2-1 with my player prop picks Monday. Still a long way to go, though, with my overall record now sitting at 7-14 (-9 units). Let’s try to build some positive momentum with three more wagers to consider Wednesday.

January 13 NBA Prop Bet Tips

Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks at Charlotte Hornets

Over 8.5 Rebounds (-125)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.8 units)

The good news for the Mavericks is that Kristaps Porzingis (knee) is expected to make his season debut in this game. The bad news is that an outbreak of COVID-19 will leave Josh Richardson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Jalen Brunson, Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell all sidelined. Also, don’t expect Porzingis to log a ton of minutes in his first game back.

This should mean a busy night is in store for Doncic, who has at least nine rebounds in four straight games. There’s a favorable chance for him to once again reach that threshold since the Hornets have allowed the seventh-most rebounds per game in the league.

C.J. McCollum, Portland Trail Blazers at Sacramento Kings

Over 24.5 Points (-125)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.8 units)

McCollum has been lighting it up this season, averaging 28.1 points thanks to his 29.1 percent usage rate. He’s scored at least 25 points in seven of 10 games this season, which included a 37-point performance against these same Kings across only 29 minutes Saturday. Both of these teams are ranked inside the top 10 in the league in pace of play, so expect McCollum to have plenty of opportunities to rack up points.

Richaun Holmes, Sacramento Kings vs. Portland Trail Blazers

Over 7.5 Rebounds (-135)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.74 units)

These two teams playing at fast paces also helps Holmes’ chances of hitting the over in the rebounding department. The Blazers have allowed the eighth-most rebounds per game and could be without the services of Jusuf Nurkic (quadriceps), who is listed as questionable.

Even if he plays, I like the over because Holmes has registered at least eight rebounds in seven of 10 games that he’s played. In the three that he failed to, two were blowouts that saw him player fewer than 25 minutes in both games. The other was a five-rebound performance against the dominant Nikola Jokic.
