January 12 NBA Bets: Pacers will outlast Warriors
January 12 NBA Bets: NBA Tuesday is always fun to bet given the shorter slates, and 1/12/21 NBA Bet Tips picks look like they’ll be wild with the small sample. The league is postponing games left-and-right due to COVID-related issues and it would not be shocking to see more games pushed back from Tuesday to later in the season.
We are very much so still in the midst of a pandemic. These players’, coaches, staff, families, etc. safety is of the utmost importance and any decision made would be in the best interest of health. It is unfortunate that any of this is occurring by all means, but it is our reality. Take every bit of advice with a grain of salt knowing that a quarantine announcement or postponement could occur in an instant.

January 12 NBA Bet Tips
Indiana Pacers (+110) vs. Golden State Warriors
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 2.10)
The Pacers are coming off of a tough loss on Monday and are likely without Victor Oladipo for this contest with the Warriors. While depth and lack of rest could be a concern, they are still more talented than the Warriors, especially along the frontcourt. Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner will cause problems for Draymond Green, James Wiseman, and their bench even after playing a combined 70 minutes against the Kings.
Stephen Curry is obviously the Warriors’ X-factor each game but with limited outlets along the perimeter to ease the load, this game will require more than just his presence to sway an outcome. We should expect a bounce-back game from Kelly Oubre Jr. given the lack of perimeter defense from Indiana but even
The Warriors are not playing as well as their record suggests and the opposite is true of the Pacers. Indiana’s net rating is 4th-best in the NBA while Golden State’s is 9th-worst.
San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder UNDER 216.5 (-110)
Wager: 2 units (win would pay 3.82)
Oklahoma City Thunder +2.5 (-110) vs. San Antonio Spurs
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.91)
The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs are both relatively bad teams despite what their records suggest. Oklahoma City is slightly worse with regards to net rating but San Antonio is without DeMar DeRozan once again due to personal reasons. While San Antonio has enough depth across the floor to make up for this loss numbers-wise, DeRozan is playing at a surprisingly-high level in what is in fact a contract year.
Through 9 games played, DeRozan’s win shares per 48 minutes are the highest they’ve ever been and above 0.200 for the first time ever. He is shooting threes at a decent volume (2.6 per game) and has connected on 39%. While his shot may regress, the mere fact that he is expanding his range is huge for his value-added on the floor.
Oklahoma City runs out a well-sized backcourt in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and George Hill against Dejounte Murray and Lonnie Walker IV in what is a fair matchup talent-wise. The real determinant for this game will be how the front-court matchup of LaMarcus Aldridge and Al Horford fairs. Both are up there in age and are clearly declining but still in prominent roles due to their respective contracts. Aldridge has dealt with some health issues this season causing him to miss time but the Spurs are 5-1 when he plays at least 25 minutes.
Both teams are coming off of road trips but my money’s on a healthier Thunder squad that didn’t just have a back-to-back weekend matchup and are scorching on a four-game win streak. Take the 2.5 points for some wiggle room though. Hard to ever feel too confident against the Spurs.
Without DeRozan and with both these teams possessing below-average offensive ratings (Thunder 3rd-worst), it is difficult to not take the under as well to double-dip on this game’s action.
